It is mechanics that glue Black Ops 4 together, then, rather than any particular theme, which helps each component drill down into what its good at. The competitive multiplayer can afford to be break-neck at all times, because you can happily nick off and play the more languid, tense and tactical Blackout.

Black Ops 4 takes multiple ideas from other modern shooters today which breathes new life into the series making it an ideal multi-player First Person Shooter that presents something special to its fans despite their diverse preferences.

Black Ops 4 is easily the best Call Of Duty has been in years. The game plays almost flawlessly, and despite it not having a single player campaign still offers lots of content including the new Battle Royale mode Blackout. The only thing keeping Black Ops 4 from a perfect score is that the multiplayer maps, while being well designed lack originality and rely too heavily on remaking the past. If you haven’t played Call Of Duty for a while, Black Ops 4 gives you plenty of reasons to return.

We are missing its campaign, but our tears will be wiped by the excellent Blackout mode or its expanded multiplayer or coop options. A great Call of Duty if you are one of those that weren't into its single player campaign.

Despite its generic title Black Ops IV feels like a fresh start for Call of Duty. The multiplayer and the zombie mode is very much the same as always, but with Blackout, Treyarch takes everything that is good with Player Unknown's Battleground and makes it better.

Black Ops 4 is one of the best Call of Duty games to date. The multiplayer and the Zombies experiences are excellent, but Blackout needs more personality and a different economic model to try to steal Fortnite and PUBG players.

It’s not that I can’t respect it — it seems to offer decent value in that it’s essentially three different types of shooter in one package, but aside from the new Blackout mode, I’ve had significantly better experiences from many of its competitors. And honestly, Blackout’s main competition is a free-to-play game. It may be better than Fortnite in my opinion, but sixty dollars better? I’m not entirely convinced about that, and without a decent singleplayer campaign attached, it’s a pretty hard sell for anyone who isn’t already a fan.

I didn’t think they were able to pull it off but black ops 4 proves that cod can still provide the action and gritty war game that fans want. Blackout is on a whole new level and great addition to the game multiplayer comes back and is still great, and the zombies is fun and challenging like we’ve never seen before. I can’t say this is the best cod game to come out recently but that doesn’t mean anything to the fact that it is great!! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game offers so much it's mind blowing. Even if you don't get the BOP the $60 you spend is still worth it. For the lack of a story/campaign they do offer a small story to get use to the character that are available at launch. The black-op mode is by far the best thing this game has simply because it's a grown up version of fortnite. A squad of your friends can make this mode that much worth it for your experience. The multiplayer version of the game is the same as before but the beauty of it is all everything you do matters and at least for me no more running and gunning. This series is by far the best and I hope that in the future that they do a dedicated VR mode for those that have the VR headset. Outside of that great game yes it's worth the 60 bucks.

Starting with zombies it is enjoyable playing the zombies mode but it is just same old zombies some different modes have been added but there is only some much one can do with just zombies. Secondly blackout just feels like it leaches off of battle royale games for a quick buck visuals look same might I add even worse than the previous call of duty games, the game play is fine but just feels like pubg with advanced weapons. Lastly the multiplayer where call of duty usually shines but falls way short, multiplayer has added a few game modes completely inspired by other games and maps are just ripped straight out of older games in the black ops franchise there is very little amount of originality here. The weapons you start out with are some what terrible and it will take you a while to level up and some weapons like the ICR are very overpowered and overused to a huge extent I have experimented to see what was the most used gun by players and the ICR took the throne i found the two to three players in an entire lobby used a different weapon. Campaign was a no show in this call of duty making this call of duty odd in a way but the stories behind the specialists did seem interesting and i wanted to know more about them certainly they could have my a campaign on the specialists there back story's were just amazing, but do not replace campaign in any way. This game could have been so much more but falls short and feels like a black ops three re skin with a few extra modes added. Expand

It's blatantly obvious you are being ripped off by investing over $100 into an unfinished product. Fans have a right to be mad about the omission of the campaign and still be charged full price. Blackout does not validate the price tag since Fortnite has a Battle Royale mode for free.

The specialist missions are short, boring and serve no purpose other than being a tutorial on how to press 'L1 + R1' for your luck based ability that requires no skill to use. Multiplayer has only 10 new but mediocre MP maps. Making remakes is a lazy excuse to fill up a diminishing roster of garbage maps.

Blackout itself is a solid mode but not worth the hefty price tag. I personally like vehicles and realistic gameplay over building. However, it is not worth a single dollar if another BR game is free.

To Blundell and the Zombies team, bravo! You nailed Zombies again and are the only reason this dead beat franchise is even afloat. At least your remakes are genuine and have new storylines and content to the maps instead of being a straight up cut and paste like Multiplayer. The revamped perks system is a fresh perspective and the new cast are fantastic to play as. I like the historical approach to the new maps and the variety of Zombie villains. Zombies alone gets this game to a 1/10

The schemes of lootboxes, overpriced games, season passes and lack of content at launch is a Treyarch special. It's time to stop them and their paid reviewers from encouraging dirty tactics. You don't see Kratos opening loot boxes to find his latest axe. Treyarch and Activision love rigging their little game of monopoly. They would sell Whitechapel Road without the add on Hotel for the price of Mayfair. Wake up and stop falling for their lies and schemes
