To start with the graphics are sub par, the universe lifeless making the environment pretty much lifeless. The game has half baked shooting mechanics and the planets are not too different from each other. One planet has blue grass with red dinosaurs and the other planet has red grass with blue dinosaurs its just a different colour palette for each planet. This game is too ambitious for its own good and it shows, it has a lot of things to show only to be implemented in a very shabby way (shooting mechanics, flight "simulation", survival). It's pretty obvious that this game has an identity crisis, so much to the point that it has no goal (or rather a badly explained goal), giving us no incentive to play it. The centre of the galaxy was shabbily done and was a colossal disappointment. You can't sympathise with indie developers just because they are "indie", you need quality and for 60 euros it's not even close. The game is terribly repetitive and not in the good way. Procedural generation is a risk because it gives the game no personality, there is nothing really interesting in the game, no variables (deserted planets, civilization, wars). The only good part of this game is the soundtrack.… Expand
Average User Score: 5.0Jun 26, 2018While the map is huge, the graphics are above average and the game is mostly polished, Crew 2 is severely misguided as to what makes an openWhile the map is huge, the graphics are above average and the game is mostly polished, Crew 2 is severely misguided as to what makes an open world racer feel good. Making a huge open world is fine and it is quite impressive but the world feels dead, sure the environments look decent enough but who cares when it lacks character and any trace of civilisation or incentive to explore this barren open world.
World physics are horrendous, I don't know why but gravity in this game is totally messed up, it feels like you fall straight down like there is a magnet attracting it and that's weird and honestly horrible. There's zero suspension physics so jumps are kinda retarded in this game.
Next the weather, there's next to none in this game. Again the world feels empty and lacks character because of this shallow weather implementation. Horrible.
I don't really mind physics all that much but I guess when there's a standard set by Forza Horizon 2/3 you start to understand just how important car physics are. Cars in the Crew 2 are like GTA or Watch Dogs cars, there's very little that differentiates one from the other beyond speed. Cars don't feel different enough and the physics are kinda trash. Very shallow physics and just really bad for a racer. There's also not a lot of details on cars, again FH3 made every car look beautiful, filled to the brim with details. Car damage is again very shallow.
Races are really dumb in this game, there's way too many jumps. I don't get why, it looks stupid and feels like you're playing Asphalt 8. Way too many jumps it just doesn't make you feel like you control the car. And honestly you don't need to because the wall will do it for you. Wall riding is faster than taking a racing line, yes we've got retarded game design. I know this is catered to kids and casuals but there's a limit.
Other vehichles are worse to play with. Boats feel like you're playing the boat game on wii sports resort but it's still infinitely worse. Physics are again superficial and there is zero interactivity with the waves. Even a decade old game made waves an integral part of boat racing.
Driving planes put me to sleep, I don't know why it's there, but it's there and it's boring. Everything about this game screams generic, superficial and it feels like everything in this game is an after thought except for the large open world but even there they stopped after rendering the environments.
Graphics are above average but still pretty bad, cars lack detail, pop in is everywhere. Very superficial modelling.
This game is bad, don't buy it, it has nothing to offer as a racer but if you want to see averagely rendered American landmarks buy it when it's 10 euros... Wait for Forza Horizon 4, I know it's a gruelling wait but it'll be worth it. It looks like FH4 is going to yet again set the standard for an open world racer.… Expand

Sure the water looks great but seriously? Is that all what's needed for this game to have such a bunch of delusional fanboys that'd defend this fundamentally flawed game to death?
The content this game offers is disgustingly insulting and extremely bare bones... it's honestly surprising, a triple A studio who has been developing this game since 2012 with backing from a behemoth of a company i.e. Microsoft and we get a game that barely engages you up to 4 hours what with little content it has.
Selling this at triple A price is a sin, such a disappointment and more importantly what a boring game this is.… Expand

I don't understand the destiny style hub area though. it doesn't make too much sense since most people will rush to match lobbies rather than roam around in some place that could easily have been accessed in a menu. also, at least in Europe, i see no one in the hub area, like 0. I waited for a 1v1 match for 3 whole minutes and I was the only one in the queue the whole time. however, the multiplayer is damn awesome, I love the map designs, really fun and easy to move around in and the designs are actually really cool. cod should probably change their engine in the next coming years since graphics are starting to look dated, it's far from bad but we can see better from AAA games. it's kinda hard to understand how the whole hub area works, I have no idea how supply drops work even after 15 hours of gameplay, I just somehow get them from time to time. I also don't know how to get armory credits, like at all, the whole thing with the quartermaster is hard to understand. I guess I'll have to figure it out as I go along. the weirdest thing to me is that no one is in the hub world, I mean it takes literally no time to get a match but it's no man's land in the hub world. so far the game is 8 but it could be a 9 when I understand how everything works, it's so hard to figure out these things, right now but just playing this game is a joy, I really like these map designs even though the template is pretty much the same.… Expand

The graphics are amazing and really push the limits of the xbox one, there are no glitches and it is a technical marvel. The set pieces are incredibly outrageous and really show the epic scale of the game even showcasing the visuals at its optimal. The characters are all badasses except for JD Fenix, the protagonist who is your everyman boyscout, and this is a letdown considering how Marcus was one of the best protagonists in all of gaming, truly badass and undeniably the coolest ever and continues to be so in this game. The others are also pretty good, anyway we also have to put into consideration the fact that this is their first rodeo so of course, they are soft. the gameplay is as satisfying as ever and is more polished, it is easier to bounce in and out of cover and is overall smoother in every other aspect. There is a lot of variation, many enemy types and the AI is much smarter making you actually think where and when to move using which weapon and whatnot. The multiplayer has a few hiccups here and there, it lags from time to time and matches are kinda slow to find, however it looks gorgeous, each map is amazing in its own right and with the patch today its even better now with no lag. I hope that gears will take some tips from halo multiplayer and make it much much better. horde is a treat, very challenging and satisfying. the campaign is a bit short and the story is a bit small scale, you dont feel like as if you're saving the world but the future installments will obviously change that. I really hope they refine the multiplayer a bit more, because it is fun, there is no denying that however, it's very odd to find matches. Maybe i am a but too used to the halo 5 matchmaking but it's flawless and I am sure that with microsoft's backing it is possible to make the match finding more intuitive and overall easier to find. I would rate it a 9 but with the insecure sony fanboys still riding on uncharted 4 rating it zeroes i have to fight back. this game is easily 10 material but i'd give it a few months till it gets to that level.… Expand
