This gamecrackdown 3 feels like someone took sunset overdrive and removed everything fun or enjoyable then sent the visuals back to 2007. This game plays as outdated and ugly as it looks. The visuals are cluttered, too bright, and are just yucky to look at.
The destructible environments are the only thing interesting or fun about this game. Yeah, blowing down a balcony with your rocket launcher is cool and fun, but even thats kind of screwed up. Remmber that awesome tech demo they did in 2015 where they showed a whole skyscraper being knocked down? Yeah you cant do that. Most of the buildings have indestructible beams inside them that make it so you just chunk away at the walls on it.
The shooting is some of the worst i've ever seen in a game. The frustratingly sticky auto-lock aiming they have is even worse thanks to the environmental destruction. You can dash behind a wall to escape your enemies but it doesnt matter since they just shoot right through them and keep locked on you no matter what. So the destructible environments end up being a detriment to the gunplay.
You get to choose from a whopping 9 guns and 2 equipment. 5 years of development and thats the best you can do??? What a joke.
The game is a clunky, ugly, and unfun slog that i cant recommend to anyone.…Expand

Red dead 2 is big, impressive, and shiny, but it falls apart thanks to rockstars outdated game design;
The huge open world is wasted on the painfully rigid mssions structure. Do an objective in the way rockstar didnt want you to? Failed mission. Get a little to far away from your gangmates as you slowly and painfully trot towards the mission area becuase you want to check out something neat off the path? Failed mission.
The game still features Rockstars horribly outdated gunplay and cover system.
Arthur and your horses feel like your controlling a shopping cart full of cinderblocks.
Even the new micromanaging systems (horse care, gun maintainance, etc) dont make the game any more fun, they end up just feeling like chores.
Red dead 2 tries too hard to be "impressive" and forgets to be fun.…Expand

You have some neat combos and weapons, sure, but not nearly enough to deal with the slow slog that you'll have to put up with each level. The graphics are surpisingly unimpressive as well, and the whole design of the levels is just bland.
While not really bad, I woudknt suggest wasting your console storage on this lackluster game.…Expand
Mafia II features an intriguing story with likable characters, and excellent music, all in a sprawling atmospheric open world. The onlyMafia II features an intriguing story with likable characters, and excellent music, all in a sprawling atmospheric open world. The only problem? That's all it has. Because along with the great story and characters come rather poor technical aspects.
Optimization on console is somewhat poor, with frame rates varying drastically at certain points in the game. Gameplay consists of decent driving controls, along with very bland combat and shooting mechanics (The crosshair in shooting sections isn't even in the middle of the screen), albeit with a neat cover system.
Even the entertaining story is hurt by the extreme linearity of the game. Sure, you have a big open city to explore and buy things in, but that's it. There are no side missions, you are restricted to the main story with nothing else to do other than just messing around. Robbing stores and diners adds a little fun, but it doesn't last long.
The story, music/art, and presentation in this game are all there, but the lack of actual open world elements such as side missions or NPC interaction in this supposedly "open world" RPG and lackluster combat mechanics makes it a rather boring game when you want to do something other than main missions or robbing a shirt store for the 20th time.
Not a bad game by any stretch, but it leaves something to be desired.…Expand

Although this game works well enough as a standalone game, the devs removed and changed enough features for the game to not resemble the SSXAlthough this game works well enough as a standalone game, the devs removed and changed enough features for the game to not resemble the SSX games of old, at least not well enough for a reboot title. The game tries too hard to coast on the nostalgic memory we have of the old games, and sure, you'll hear DJ Atomika at one point or another, and some familiar roster characters return, but the controls and level design that made the old games a great time to play no longer exist, making for a game that barely resembles the predecessors that made its name famous.
The level design is by far this games biggest weakness. The game was originally supposed to be called SSX Deadly Descents, and naturally had to feature some dangerous and random terrain, but overly difficult level design is not something you need in a reboot title. The fast and smooth race courses are gone, replaced with chasms, cliffs, uphill terrain, buyable gimicky equipment the game could have gone without, and overall slow and tedious riding.
Despite the 360 having a near identical button layout to the GameCube, the devs thought it would be a good idea to change the controls around for the reboot, seriously hurting player control. There is an option to swotch back to classic controls, but even then, oversensitive turning, ridiculous trick completion time and having your character tweak and turn with the same stick make doing tricks overly complex and difficult.
The music in this game is no longer a mix of alternative rock and funk rock, having been changed to a collection of modern dubstep tracks for the reboot. While its impossible to say whether this is good or bad due to different tastes, I will say I would appreciate a few SSX 3 songs here and there.
Even without touching on the convoluted story mode (where fan favorite Griff is the villain for some reason), the annoying rewind feature which should have just been a respawn button, or the lack of split screen play, I can easily say that, while not really a game, SSX doesn't do much of anything to improve the tried and true formula of previous SSX hits, and in some ways even removes the classic fun factors, in favor of a more modern and unfortunately bland experience.…Expand
