Ultimately, it’s his own, most career-defining work to date. ... The record progresses--in every sense of the word---he allows himself to become more vulnerable, more considerate.

Astroworld shows the evolution of Travis Scott as an artist and is his most refined, imaginative, and rage-worthy project yet.

If Astroworld suffers from any sin, it’s a nearly endless ambition.

While Astroworld has some slight flaws, the project is Travis' best, most-progressive and most-well-rounded album to date.

Malone is an unmistakable presence on his songs, his otherworldly croon an essential element to his genre-hopping sound. Despite the considerable leaps in quality taken on Astroworld, it still doesn’t feel like Scott can muster that level of individuality.

The music might take your breath away, if the worst of the lyrics don’t make you roll your eyes. He’s very good at what he’s good at, but he’s not what you’d call well-rounded. Still, not everyone who has something to say, says it in words.

There's nothing to really get mad at, but there's not much to get excited about either. Scott is just "aight."

He abuses the autotune (Which is not bad btw), but he still needs to stay as good as Rodeo Travis, or even DBR Travis. HH album of the year for me (although I'm a Stan!) Production is perfect. Expand

The Album starts off with "Stargazing" a dark, gritty, spacey, trap banger with a beat switch leading into an incredible verse by Travis Scott. All around I've noticed Travis has had a great improvement in his lyrics, nothing Kendrick or J Cole level but still some decent bars spread out in this project. The Next Song "Carousel" featuring Frank Ocean on the song's Hook. Travis starts out the song with another bar filled verse and Frank Ocean keeps the momentum going with a melodic catchy and memorable Hook. Other Mentionable tracks on this project include "Stop Trying to be God" with a decent verse from Scott but an enchanting Hook and infamous humming from Kid Cudi, the song also includes the best production on the Album thanks to Stevie Wonder. My only problem with this project is cringe moments, while for the Most part Travis' lyrics are decent occasionally they end up ruining the whole song, I've felt this way a lot with Travis' past material but it seems to happen more often on Astroworld. Overall a very solid project and defiantly worth the wait.

I never heard of this artist before but I wanted to listen to this album because of the very high ratings and I thought it was...okay. I likeI never heard of this artist before but I wanted to listen to this album because of the very high ratings and I thought it was...okay. I like the beats and it has some good ideas but I just think that Travis isn't a great rapper or lyricist. He seems to be a pretty creative but I just don't think he executes most of his ideas very well. Some songs are well executed and I do admit that he has potential, I just thinks he needs to improve his rapping and lyrics to make a more consistent and well done album. Expand
