Vermintide 2 is easily worth your time and money to play. People have long awaited another Left 4 Dead, but Vermintide will fill its shoes nicely. While Vermintide 2 isn’t considered an AAA game, it sure feels like one.

With various difficulties to tackle and work through, secrets items to find that affect loot quality while offering additional challenge, in addition to the large and mostly accommodating community - Warhammer: Vermintide II is a must for fans of co-op. Or, anyone still holding out for Left 4 Dead 3.

Strong, satisfying melee combat and smart levels make for a great sequel. Best with friends. [October 2018, p.92]

Overall, Vermintide 2 suffers in the minor aspects of its design, but its core combat and basic structure is strong enough to make up for most of the frustrations. Not every implementation is well executed, but it succeeds in the areas that it needs to.

This game is addictive, all thanks to the challenge it offers and the extremely satisfying combat that blends hack-and-slash elements with a weighty feel, so no matter if I was with friends or random people online, I was ecstatic by the overwhelming moments it kept sending my way. I can say that Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is THE cooperative game to play in 2018 on Xbox One or PC (no cross platform play available).

Vermintide 2 provides quality work on all fronts, and the best thing is that you can really tell that Fatshark has done a great amount of work developing this game throughout its various stages to its final release.

An excellent first person co-op game, with some spectacularly gory melee combat and a loot box system that’s not nearly as controversial as it might have been.

To my amazement then I was shocked that Warhammer: Vermintinde 2 is better in pretty much all areas and the reason I’m amazed because I didn’t think it was possible to improve over the original so much because the original didn’t get much wrong at all. The combat in the first game was absolutely brilliant, but it’s even better in this game. Everything you do in combat feels like it matters and the best thing is that everything you do when in combat packs a punch and feels very satisfying at all times. One of my very few gripes about the original was that I thought it was lacking a little in terms of variety, but that definitely isn’t the case here. Variety is dotted throughout the gameplay in Vermintide 2 and that’s especially the case when it comes to the game’s fantastic and diverse missions. Be prepared though because some of these missions can be really difficult to complete, but even though the game can be very difficult at times I definitely did relish the challenge. I even enjoyed the challenge when it came to the bosses as well even though fighting the bosses seemed to go on forever. Despite the game’s high difficulty curve I didn’t find myself getting frustrated that much and I think that was mainly down to the game’s co-op elements. Without a doubt playing the game with friends is the best way to enjoy this game because the action remains thrilling and tense throughout and the teamwork aspect keeps things from going dull. This of course then makes the game’s replaybility very high and you won’t be getting bored anytime soon because the game also features plenty of customisation and loot for you to get to grips with. It also features a story for you to follow along the way and the best thing is that this story will keep you invested throughout your time with the game. The presentation side of the game is definitely better in this game over the original and without a doubt both the visuals and sound design have had a tremendous amount of effort placed into them which of course makes things even more immersive. At the end of the day as far as sequels are concerned Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is up there with the very best. It’s took what was so good about the first game and improved it whilst also adding even more features and when everything is said and done I can’t recommend this game enough because its very close perfect in it's genre.
