From the charming illustrations to the unique puzzle design, Gorogoa is truly a top-notch representation of quality over quantity.

While Gorogoa is an amazing experience, it’s a very brief one with little to no replay unless you’re chasing the few achievements you missed the first time through, or you may really want to experience it again afterwards with a better grasp of its mechanics. As a puzzle game, it’s unique, interesting and absolutely gorgeous. It’s obvious that Gorogoa was a labor of love, and it shows. Mechanically it’s ingenious and what it lacks in length, it makes up in quality. Quality over quantity is the perfect slogan for this unique puzzler that I’ll remember for quite sometime.

A unique, though short, experience, completely different from anything else and with impressive creative and artistic values. If you like puzzle games, especially the more brilliant ones, Gorogoa is an absolute must buy.

It may be short for the price, however, I’d say it is an experience is well worth the price of admission. From the hand drawn visuals to some of the crafty puzzles it offers, Gorogoa is one of those games that I’m glad didn’t pass me by.

The illustrations are truly breath-taking and the way the panels fit together and interact are ingenious. It’s just missing a way to truly appreciate the artwork outside of the main narrative, as crucially these are what you will remember most about Gorogoa.

If you want a mind-bending puzzle game along the lines of, like, Portal or something, it’s not going to deliver that, and you’ll want to stay away. If, however, you want a gentle puzzle game with heartfelt visuals, that will remind you of life pre-gaming, then Gorogoa offers a solid — if brief — experience.

With Gorogoa I was excited more than usual and that’s because I’ve heard nothing but good things about it, and now I can see why. Gorogoa in my opinion is one of the best puzzle games of all time and that’s no small feat because there have been many brilliant puzzle games over the years. Gorogoa blows a lot of these puzzle games out of the water for me and the main reason for that is because everything just feels so unique. The gameplay has charm oozing through it and not once did I get bored with my time with the game thanks to the excellent mechanics that had been implemented. Obviously in order to make a successful puzzle game you have to have intriguing puzzles, and thankfully they’ve smashed this aspect of the game out of the park. Each puzzle has a meaning and fits in with the story and when in full flow the cleverness and uniqueness of each puzzle is absolutely fantastic. In fact the puzzles were that good that I didn’t even mind getting stuck on some of them. It would however have been nice to have had a little bit more of an explanation on some of the puzzles but this only a very small gripe. I never felt the frustration levels go too high and I must admit that this is rare in a game of this ilk. One of the main reasons why the frustration levels stay low is because the controls don’t cause any unnecessary problems and by keeping them responsive and fluid throughout means the game has no problems at all. Another thing that helps you stay calm and collected when things get tough is the game’s story. The story is very simple and is told mainly through pictures, but these pictures tell you all you need to know and in the end the story without a doubt connects with you on a number of levels. Obviously the story wouldn’t be as good if it wasn’t for the fantastic presentation side of the game, and to say I enjoyed this aspect of the game would be a massive understatement. Visually the game looks absolutely stunning and the hand-drawn art style gives the game a huge amount of charm. The sound design is also fantastic and when both the visuals and different sounds combine together it ends up creating a very unforgettable atmosphere. At the end of the day you know a game is absolutely brilliant when your biggest gripe is that it’s a little on the short side, and that really is my only gripe with Gorogoa. Everything about the game has been lovingly crafted and if you’re a fan of puzzles games then you will find it very difficult to find a better puzzle game than Gorogoa. Expand

Gorgoa is a bit of a dream, it’s a weird story to describe without spoiling whats going on..
so basically you’re a boy that sets out to gather 5 fruit..
And to progress through the story you’ll be lining up pictures and stacking pictures on top of each other..
This game took me around 2 hours to complete my first time and I found the puzzles here to be clever..
There is just enough to handle at any given moment..
It gets close to the line of overwhelming towards the end of the game.. but it dances on the line.. never quite crossing it, keeping this challenging brain teaser to be satisfying and fun…
and times making me feel like a genius when I solved a puzzle instantly after remembering an alignment I was playing with earlier..
some may be turned off by the game length, however I felt 2 hours to be a great amount of time..
im not a huge fan of having to use my brain when I play games.. at least for not a long period of time..
so I was definitely happy gorogoa doesn’t drag on forever..
it sets out to tell a story, deliver it through clever puzzle solving and picture stacking and it does just that..
right to the point, no time wasting.. no filler..
This is a great game every puzzle fan should check out
    I give Gorogoa
    an 8/10
