Limbo holds up incredibly well on the PS4, but it would have been nice to see a little more from this port – especially seeing as it's not cross-buy compatible.

The simplicity of this game is what sells it. The controls are not hard to understand and the fact that it has a limited set of controls is what makes it enjoyable. However, it is the scenarios the game puts you through that will test your skills. Expand

I played the demo version twice and surprisingly got bored in both occasions, but it has finally been on PS4 that I have discovered this game.

Aesthetically beautiful and carefully designed, the atmosphere is captivating from beginning to end. There are some difficult parts and at times it may even become a trial-and-error game, but that does not diminish its quality overall.

It is probably not the best indie game, but it certainly must be included among the best ten or so.

The atmosphere this game gives you is simply great. The puzzles are more and more challenging as you advance, but they are not impossible and the game itself isn't punishing. The story is left to interpretation and for me that's something new and exciting. The only bad thing about it is that the trophies are very hard to get, and for a trophy hunter like me, that's a problem. Expand

Then it come on PS+ and I thought - I'll give it a quick 30 minutes for some nostalgia, 3 hours later i'd re-completed the game. There's something enchanting yet cruel about the game, and even having completed it before, I came to a few later stage puzzles whereby I died a good 10+ times to get past it. So brilliantly frustrating but rewarding for it.

As stories go, it's pretty thin and doesn't really give you much, but this actually adds to the game. You start off just waking up in a silhouetted world of darkness and are left to discover its dangers without as much as an NPC to say "do this"

Dying isn't much fun in most games. In Limbo the rag-doll like mechanics of the boy mean you'll not want to chuck a remote at the screen, instead you'll be able to appreciate your decapitation and watching your limp body slide down the hill following your bouncing head to the river bank below. Or maybe that's just me.

Limbo is a great platform game. Both stylised and sinister. One of the best indie titles to emerge from the last gen and if you can get it free on PS+ now, do it, I'd happily pay up to £9.99 to relive this experience if it hadn't come back up

The game really has not much to offer. Just one playthrough to be honest. But this one time it is a pure pleasure.

Even if you got it for free don't waste your time playing it. The game just tries too hard to be all dark and mysterious and ends up being vague and simple. The puzzles are simple until the difficulty spikes drastically in the last few chapters.
The puzzles don't really take skill just lots of dying to figure the exact right progression of movements. People will say that's difficulty done by requiring precision timing, they are wrong. This isn't precision jumping like Super Meatboy, this is trial and error that gets super monotonous and frustrating as you figure out a puzzle and then get killed in a way that you can only avoid if you already knew it was coming. And with the gravity controls sometimes I was like, "How the hell dose gravity pull me and/or this box that way!?"
Also not a single drop of story, I don't need some sweeping narrative but at least a few drops would be nice.
I'm usually pretty forgiving reviewer but I seriously hated this game. I had to beat it because that's just the type of gamer I am but I felt my time was wasted.
