Downward Spiral: Horus Station is an atmospheric game that feels like the video game equivalent of Aram Khachaturian’s exceptionally melancholic Adagio from the Gayane Ballet Suite used during the Discovery montage from 2001: A Space Odyssey. I never knew exploring and interacting with derelict space vessel in VR was my jam - and it totally is now.

The Zero-G gameplay remains fun throughout, and a wide assortment of weapons and tools helps to allow players some freedom in the way they dispatch enemies. With death being meaningless, and a story told without any real clues to go off, some players may not feel rewarded enough by simply progressing to the next room.

A very competent yet short science fiction title in which you move around in zero G while you blast robots that have gone haywire while attempting to escape Horus station intact. Audio visually a great title that reminds us of Kubrick's 2001, albeit with more action. The game is not very challenging however and floating around in zero G is frustrating at first. When you're not playing on PS VR, feel free tot deduct a point from our score.
  4. 60
Downward Spiral is a zero gravity space adventure that mixes the worst bits of Dead Space, Descent and every walking simulator ever but somehow remains intriguing and relatively tough to put down.
  5. 60
An ambitious and unique approach to video game storytelling, but one that never quite escapes the limitations it purposefully imposes on itself.
  6. Oct 1, 2018
A good soundtrack and VR immersion are not enough to outweigh the diffuse storytelling and mostly bland visuals.
  7. Sep 18, 2018
Downward Spiral: Horus Station neither succeeds nor fails in any spectacular fashion, and as such, it just sort of exists. This is a boring experience that doesn’t do anything truly unforgivable, but is also unsuccessful in offering anything worthy of talking about. Downward Spiral: Horus Station is a thing, but you really don’t need to experience it.
