Assassin's Creed Odyssey - Legacy Of The First Blade Official DLC Launch Trailer
Oct 1, 2018Assassin's Creed Odyssey becomes one of the best chapters of the saga to date. Its history involves from beginning to end and the recreation of Ancient Greece is simply sublime. Its mechanics are the result of everything learned in previous chapters and achieve an immersive gameplay. If you are a fan of the saga and you like RPG games, Assassin´s Creed Odyssey is an essential on your bookshelf.
Oct 1, 2018Assassin’s Creed Odyssey features a rich, lush world lessened by its repetitive activities. Though the main story is compelling, completing it requires you to participate in a massive amount of level grinding through less-than-stellar side quests. There’s plenty to do in this world, but a lot of it feels like busy work that fights to stay exciting or compelling. Odyssey is yet another open world game that misinterprets the meaning of more content.

So this score is just evaluating it as a game, without the baggage of being in a series. I think the game is excellent, the graphics are phenomal and gameplay is solid. It kind of reminds me of horizon: zero dawn, as I played an archer like character. The microtransactions aren't in your face. I'd prefer for them not to be in there at all, but this is, unfortunately, the future of gaming. The world is gigantic, the biggest I've ever seen in a game. It really is breathtaking, looking out at synchronization points. Personally, I would have preferred more RPG elements, but I say that about every game. Alexios is thicc and truly bae.… Expand

I'm playing on Hard difficulty, and have spent much of my time above recommended level, and that's without doing many of the optional timed quests, and without spending any money on micro-transactions. I don't get many of the comments about grinding...it's not like a MMRPG where you need to go and pick fights with random packs of wolves, NPCs etc. just to level up. The timed mini-quests & bounties can be repetitive and are very simple (sometimes I've had quite literally the exact same mini-quest dialogue from different NPCs) but there are plenty of actual side quests which are generally interesting, and so far I've found no issues with levelling...and absolutely no grind has been required in my own experience. For reference, I'm relatively new to the series...played the original AC when it came out, but wasn't keen on the mechanics and gave up a few hours in...Origins was my first real AC game that I experienced in full.… Expand

As soon as you start off your story you will know this is a game not for the faint hearted ,the scale of this game becomes apparent within the 1st few hours .
Yes it’s now pretty much an RPG ,does that really matter ?to some it seems to .
For me this is the perfect game to get stuck into for the next couple of weeks ,probably months .
If you like orgins you will love this ,stunning map(62% bigger than origins ) from land to ship battles ,great combat ,more advanced than origins .if you like RPGS and open world games then this is perfect for you.easy 9.5 out of 10 from me… Expand

The easiest way to describe it is the lovechild of Witcher 3 and Shadow of War, skinned in Ancient Greece. Nothing more nothing less.
The Witcher 3 Parts.
The movement, boats, horses, and even the World map and its icons looks and feels a lot like Witcher 3. which sadly Witcher 3 did successfully back in 2015. The only thing that Odyssey did better on that was having one BIG world map instead of separate loading zones and 2018 visuals to suit.
The Shadow of War Parts.
It has basically cloned the nemesis system from Shadow of War, without the actual nemesis. You have the strongholds, captains, recruits etc. Some of the character abilities, the teleport spear for example shows even more why its a clone.
it has chosen 2 very great games (especially Witcher) to clone, making it a perfect marriage of them. If you like them , you like this. Simple.
Don't expect an Assassins Creed game....The Stealth gameplay is watered down to favour the greater combat approach. Some may like this, may not, it adds more depth to the game overall. But don't expect to have that classic Stealth experience.
its an RPG. something I personally liked, having more customisation and loot. But it feels shallow at times. Not as in depth as typical RPG'S on the loot front. I feel in the effort to become a fully fledged RPG and balanced the games, Ranged, Stealth and Combat play styles its become a sort of "Jack of all trades, master of none" game.
its lost its uniqueness and originality of being an Assassins Creed game, It should of been it's own standalone Ubisoft IP.
As a video game its great, lots to see and do, and very pretty albeit a bit buggy in places (which could just be launch issues that will be fixed). But sadly it lacks what it was meant to be an assassins creed game.… Expand

The game play and controls are complicated. Don't get me started on the horrible bird idea. I had huge hopes for this game, and when I saw that MetaCritic gave it a bad score, I didn't believe it. I bought it anyway. BELIEVE IT!! Just trying to find where your next objective is - even in guided mode - is a difficult task. The story is very disjointed, the graphics - I know I already mentioned them, but I have to say again - are simply terrible. It feels like they knew the game was no good, but had to get it out the door so they released it anyway. My recommendation: RedBox it first. I have played most of the AC games since the original, and while they sometimes seem a bit repetitive, I've like all of the ones I have played. This one might be the series jumping the shark. I simply cannot imagine myself playing another AC after this mess.… Expand
