An epic racing experience that offers much more content than the original game.

Despite Ivory Tower sticking their fingers in a lot of pies, every racing discipline is a joy to play.

The Crew 2 is a whisker away from being a great game. You can spend an entire afternoon just enjoying the cars and driving without a specific purpose, while taking in some of the marvelous views, and it feels really good. However, the major downsides - ubiquitous copy-pasting and a rather scant number of genuine innovations - don't allow me to recommend this game to absolutely everyone; not just yet.

The Crew 2, the open-world racing game offers too many options and often fails to finish its innovative ideas. Still, it is a fantastic game where players with a little patience can have fun for a long time.
  5. The Crew 2 is one of the most ambitious racing game we have ever seen. With gorgeous views and different kind of vehicles, it strikes you really fast. But problems with car physics and lack of PvP, it feels like an unfinished product.

Despite all the cool features that are touted, it the end is just a soulless racing game that doesn’t excel at anything but also doesn’t really fail in any significant way.

What a delight to re-appreciate The Crew all over again! The first one. Not this underdeveloped and terribly misguided sequel.

It's a game with terrible story, bad handling, repetitive and unauthentic environments and a small list of cars. Does this game fix those issues? Yes and no.

The map is 10 times better this time around. Cities are huge with more real life locations, landscapes are varied and vast. Graphics are pretty. Free roaming with friends is once again the strongest aspect of this game.

Story has been removed entirely. I'm actually not really against this seeing as, 99% of the time, story and racing games don't mix. But it also gives you a lack of purpose.

New additions like planes and boats are fun for a couple hours and the vehicle-swapping feature is awesome.

If you're a fan of racing games or want a casual exploration game to play with friends, this is your game.

Probably the most grindy game I can remember playing of late. You have to grind to buy cars, then you have to grind to level the cars up. Getting the first car for a discipline leveled up to the maximum takes something like twenty hours. Then, to grind out the "set" that you want takes another 20-40+. I cannot even guess how long it might take to get a desirable set where all the item affixes are desirable, but I haven't met anyone that has managed such a feat. It's ridiculous.

The netcode is DRAMATICALLY better than the previous game and among the best I remember seeing in an online game, but the playing experience is largely solitary. There are a dozen or so races across a dozen or so disciplines, but good luck finding people you enjoy playing with. There aren't, presently, any facilities for matchmaking or even global chat channels or anything.

On the up-side, the game is gorgeous. The number of licensed automobiles is very large, including a pretty fantastic selection of popular motorcycles. If the idea of zooming around on a decked out H2 or S1000RR or even a Street Glide sounds appealing, The Crew 2 is the best option I have found short of doing it in real life.

So it's simple to do whatever you want & the matches are mostly too easy, but this does not only have advantages: It's like a carnival without deeper sense and plausible background, just to put on a show for artificial followers. Doing this the fun factor doesn't come up through the locomotion physics either: above all roadcontact is missing never mind finetuning for driving, water does not affect boats and wind does not exist for airplanes. Obviously lacks a plenty of experience with racingcompetitions in every kind of these. Also the sounds do not create a special atmosphere, besides there's only a glorified USA-area. Does the future of videogames look like this? That soulless game is the Jack of all trades as master of none, whose advertising promises more than it is! In fact for everything only 24GB of storage is required instead of the announced 55. All in all my aroused expectation for such a high-priced title is kinda disappointed, therefor here are at least 2 out of 10 points (always same smooth intro & clearly arranged car selection are given, smart will be exited via hidden radio menu anyway microtransactions cannot be dangerous here). Since i'm bored of Microsofts mainstream Forzas, ultimately i prefer the spirit of eArts matured NfS-Ghostseries currently Payback. Expand

It was amazing and fun and exciting, graphics were alright, cars felt like cars. Now this comes out and lets compare to the first part:
    - Graphics: same if not worse.
    - Sound: worse and not barely linked to whats happening to the vehicle in game (Im talking gear switches etc)
    - Physics: cars/planes/boats they all feel the same - like soap on watery surface. Completely cardboard.
    - Map : smaller than the original, replaying same races over and over again? Really?!

All in all it doesn't feel like a work on mistakes from the first game ( cuz lets face it: not perfect) instead we got some horrible feeling arcade race/flight/boat thing. I tell you this, try it and then try NFS Most Wanted for example, or even better underground 2. We can all agree neither of theese games are sims, both arcade, but I can bet you will have same or even better experience with old NFS than this. And lets not compare it to any other arcade racing game that is NOT released yet.
