Dark Souls: Remastered - Gameplay Trailer
Autoplay On Off
Jun 19, 2018At the end of the day this is the perfect way to play Dark Souls. If you are a new player, the game will still be just as challenging but it will look and feel like a much more modern game. If you are a veteran, this is a beautiful nostalgia filled trip through my personal favorite game of the 360/PS3 era.
May 27, 2018While bare-bones on the surface, Dark Souls Remastered is one of the best games of the last 20 years running better than it ever has. New players will find all of the mood, challenge, and tension of the original, and returning vets are given beefier online options and minor tweaks to small details. More importantly, it keeps one of the medium’s best games easily accessible and readily available.
Jun 5, 2018Whatever score I tack onto the end of this will struggle to capture the proper essence of what must be the purest Souls experience you can find on modern consoles. Bloodborne feels fundamentally different, while Dark Souls III carries all the improvements and changes that have been made to the franchise up to this point. Dark Souls Remastered is a shined-up version of the series, in essence, a pure delivery of exquisite suffering and sublime reward with a stable frame-rate and functional lighting. From a technical perspective, I can’t recommend this game enough.
May 25, 2018Dark Souls Remastered is a good reminder how far we’ve come in the last seven years. This is almost all nostalgia, with the potential to grab newer players and show them where the series more or less started. It’s beginning to feel a little dated, with adjustments to combat and movement from newer games not being implemented, but there’s still the sense of overwhelming gratification when playing, not to mention intense strategy.
Jun 21, 2018Dark Souls: Remastered can almost barely be considered a remastered title for PC gamers and, while it provides some increase in graphics and quality of life improvements, these additions are largely negligible unless you’re a dedicated multiplayer fan. Despite this fact, Dark Souls is still an amazing game that is worth playing through more than once, and there’s a lot here for gamers who’ve never played through the first title in the Souls series.
Jun 5, 2018Never thought I'd see the day when the DS community complains about more Dark Souls.
This is a remaster, not a remake. Every other gameNever thought I'd see the day when the DS community complains about more Dark Souls.
This is a remaster, not a remake. Every other game people are fine with just a touchup of the textures and a couple of streamlining conveniences, but somehow it's unacceptable for Dark Souls.
Look, I get the itch and hope for a remake with all the niceties we got accustomed to from Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3, but would Dark Souls 1 still be Dark Souls 1 if you changed the game so fundamentally?
While I am dissapointed that they've left some of the old bugs in as is (and introduced a few new ones, like how a Dark Knight can thrust straight through my shield when I block as if it wasn't there (suspect it's got to do with 60fps) ), it did improve the experience dramatically without changing the feel of the game.
I for one LOVE the remaster, as it is an opportunity to experience Dark Souls 1 as it was meant to be. We all wish that this was the version we got originally and not the horrible port PTDE was, but what's done is done and no amount of whining will ever change that.
I'm just happy I get to experience Dark Souls 1 multiplayer, as by the time I got around to playing PTDE the online was pretty much dead.

Sep 18, 2018Great game but not so good remaster. Minor changes when compared to original, on PC visuals are only slightly improved.

During my playthrough I had real trouble finding someone for coop after first few levels. Only invaders with well optimized and PvP focused characters. Much easier to find someone in DS3.
It is worth giving it a try if you haven't played it before or want to refresh the experience. Not worth full price.
Played on i5-3570K and GTX970 with constant frame rate and no technical issues at all.… Expand
Jul 25, 2018Such a disappointment to see that only few things were changed.
Besides the key biding being decent for a pc game, nothing actually changedSuch a disappointment to see that only few things were changed.
Besides the key biding being decent for a pc game, nothing actually changed besides a few textures that look like the original game with 3 or 4 mods.
So much room for potential went missing, such as fixing the backstab in PvP, weapon balancement,
some enemies placement...the list goes on.
This is a lazy cash grab that feels like the same game but much more expensive.
At least they come with the dlc, which is nice… Expand
