Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has proven to all players, that it doesn´t need Hollywood faces in the story to attract players, because it’s completely fine with its online entertainment. Call of Duty is definitely going to stay with us for a couple more weeks. [Issue#290]

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is really fun to play and the natural progression of the players is a fantastic motivator to keep on playing. I can really say that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 provides the best multiplayer experience in the franchise, and it’s not going to be a surprise when the next iteration is going to focus even more on this aspect.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, the fifteenth iteration of a storied Call of Duty franchise, blends old and new to put itself in the upper echelon of Call of Duty games. Despite its lack of a traditional campaign, the game impresses in plenty of other aspects. The newcomer mode, Blackout, puts a fun and compelling Call of Duty spin on the battle royale genre. Multiplayer's boots find the ground again and take me all the way back to my fondest memories of the original Black Ops. Although it's not historically my favorite type of mode, Zombies really kicks it up a notch, with more maps and customization than ever before (not to mention even crazier Easter Eggs).

Black Ops 4 feels like one of the strongest Call of Duty entries to come along in years. Despite not having a solo campaign or some of the past games' more bombastic mechanics, Treyarch has proved the adage that "less is more." And this game's "less" is good enough to keep me waiting around for "more."

Absence of story campaign aside, Black Ops 4 managed to keep the traditional gameplay of the series as well as venture into the uncharted territories of Battle Royale genre – with a reasonable amount of success. [Issue#234, p.44]

The game is highly optimized for performance, with the exception of the low 20Hz tick rate.

Black Ops 4 combines all the elements of pop culture in gaming and the ease of access the franchise has always offered into one of the best Call of Duty games to come out in recent time. However, the AAA asking price for a minimized full title is slightly unnerving, as the game cannot and does not offer a full experience.

The multiplayer maps are really balanced and blackout is the best battle royale out there right now. In fact it’s the first battle royale I’ve actually enjoyed. The lack of single player was a little disappointing but you can tell the development team really made up for it by focusing on the expanded zombies mode and battle royale. Also would like to say it runs great on PC. I’m using a GTX 980 which is a couple years old and I’m getting a steady frame rate above 80 fps at all times. Would highly recommend this. Expand

Its basically all the bestpossible the best cod since black ops 1 it has its downfalls as no campaign and battle royal is pubg re branded. Its basically all the best maps remastered and it works good apart from the glitch where it freezes occasionally. The graphics are amazing provided you have a top end gpu. the zombies are fun as ever on the titanic or the Colosseum. this time round we can have bots in the zombie if you want a solo match with intelligent ai. think it would of benefited from a campaign instead of battle royal (pubg) which is already dying off in popularity. on the fence about useing battle net instead of steam as how do i report a game play issue Expand

Multiplayer has its moments but for the most part is just another call of duty game. Overly re-used maps. Expand

I normally enjoyed the single player game, but this time it is only only. So, did they delivery an online experience that makes up for it? I don't think so. The online market is already somewhat crowded with great games like Fortnite and PUBG. While I was hoping to be wrong, I don't see CoD adding anything new to compete with these games. It is basically just a very basic online shooter aimed at pulling over players from the market leaders mentioned above. But it miserably fails at that and I found myself going back to Fortnite after just a few hours.
Overall, I regret buying it and it is safe to say that this will be my last CoD unless single player campaigns make a return.

When you do get a match however it feels unfinished and the worst of all the modes is their battle royal mode blackout. the guns in black out are extremely unbalanced for the game mode they are in.

Team death match can still be fun SOMETIMES but the immersion is broken with the terrible sounding guns and minimal customization options for your characters.

i can NOT find anything to love about this game, yes it has some pretty graphics and can sometimes quench your need for a new cod but i would highly suggest going back to black ops 2 and 3 as they are 100% better than this.

Treyarch if you're reading this then PLEASE next time do not look at whats hot and throw it in, do what you have done with your previous black ops give it a great story with great action and suspense, DO NOT make it Multiplayer only because that has killed this game.

And for anyone who is wondering, no i am NOT bagging on the studio, they have done incredible work in the past and i believe they can do it again with black ops 5 or whatever cod or other game they might do next.

It's a shame what Call of Duty has become. Do not put a formal story mode betting only on the online multiplayer that was previously a complement in the title of each year. They only sell to the public that has already positioned their product. His sales are because he copied the battle royal mode.

    More like Lack Ops.

I played the Beta for this game prior to its release, as i've done with each CoD, out of morbid curiosity and to confirm them as being not worth a purchase. Like each CoD before it since which ever the last good one was (which varies depending on who you ask, I'm going to say CoD 4, tentatively), it's a rehash of the same tired whack-a-mole gameplay that characterizes each installment, on the same old jury-rigged Quake 3 engine, the same awful netcode, with I'm sure what will be the same obnoxiously overpriced map packs, and the same sour taste it leaves in your mouth. And yet, each manages to be even worse then the preceding game each time, in this case by taking the already used and abused "character shooter" setup, providing even more ways to die to something you didn't see coming, and injecting, of all the half-baked dimwittery, a "battle royale" mode. They even had the unmitigated gall to not even bother adding a singleplayer campaign, the only part of CoD that was ever any real fun. Oh and for the diuretic icing on the **** sundae, there's microtransactions. And if the betas for WW2, Black Ops 3 and this game were any indication, the downward spiral persists to this day. The one for Infinite Warfare didn't even work. One of these days CoD will get so bad it will actually lose Activision a a lot of money, and then we can put this undead franchise back in the ground where it belongs.

Treyarch got to make good games, once. Anybody remember Die by the Sword?
