So as the story unfolds, along with your map and you get into this gathering, parkouring and hunting rhythm here comes the main reason that has me rate Odyssey right up there with Origins. Next to Kassandra herself and animal taming, it’s the Naval component that really makes this Assassins Creed epic.

Though the main story suffers because of it, Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a remarkably massive RPG held together by a web of satisfying pursuits.

Despite my few complaints, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey truly is an incredibly entertaining game that proves Origins was no fluke. I’m back on the hype train, baby, and I can’t wait to see where the next stop is (even if I wish it’d rest at the same station for another year or two). No longer a simple stealth game, but instead a massive, detailed, sprawling roleplaying game, Odyssey just might be one of my favorite games of 2018 so far.

Undoubtedly, AC: Odyssey as a game has quite a few issues: bad AI, the strangulation of the player with hundreds of missions and missed opportunities on the RPG level. But it does something also very important: it includes a huge and impressive world, capturing successfully the Ancient Greece aesthetic and it manages to be truly entertaining and unimaginably addictive.

As expected, Odyssey is basically Origins 2.0, bigger and better in almost every regard, from leveling options to wide open world with procedurally-generated mercenaries to keep you entertained for hours and hours. [Issue #233, p.54]

Odyssey is a fantastic addition to the Assassin's Creed franchise. Plenty of action and adventure is wrapped up in a gripping story, with a plethora of choices for you to make along the way. This particular piece of history makes for a fantastic blend of war and mythology, and Ubisoft has done a brilliant job merging the two. Between the fabulous open-world exploration and the exciting game-altering decisions around every corner, I cannot recommend this title enough.

While AC: Origins was packed with interesting stories, Odyssey is a generic ’Ubisoft sandbox’ in the worst sense, with hundreds of the same-looking places, dozens of ”kill-fetch” quests and almost zero motivation to grind further.

I like the way ubisoft took for Assassin's Creed. Although I am myself not a big Fan of Role Playing Games I have to say that Odyssey is not going too too deep with the Role Playing System what makes it easy accessible for pretty much everyone! Besides there are of course a few downgrades like the Graphics etc. but those things are criticism on such a high level that it isn't worth mentioning. For me I've been playin since Release Day and I am still so thrilled to play this game. The Dialogue Options aren't as big as for example in a Mass Effect, but they still have affection in the Outcome of certain Situations. I don't see why people are treating this game so negatively, Ubisoft tried something new out and I believe it worked wonderfully. The people that are saying "This isn't Assassin's Creed anymore" have literally no Idea of how the Game is designed and I am pretty sure that they didn't even play it. They are just saying that because they want the game to be always the same. Just FYI this won't work out forever. Expand

What you're getting here is a huge beautiful game world to explore on both land and sea set in the best setting: Ancient Greece. And you get to play exactly the way you want. Choice is the biggest addition here, allowing you choose dialogue options and make decisions that affect the story, choose your own playstyle; combat or stealth, you even get to choose to play as Alexios or Kassandra who have totally different personalities. I'm glad This franchise went full RPG because though it may be as good as the witcher, it comes pretty damn close.

One of the games of the year. 10/10.

    Again disappointing Ubisoft.

In my opinion this is the worst Assassin's Creed game I have ever played, and believe me, I have played all of them.

The only plus of this game is that it has a huge map with beautiful places. This is why my score is 3 because Ubisoft managed to build a nice world.

Where is the music in the game, you can only hear it when you climb a synchronization point and that's it. I can not play this game for more then an hour, its very boring for me. Even when you are in a fight on the ground or on the water the game does not seems interesting. Where is the slowmotion when killing someone? Tt gave so much more dynamic to the game.

I can not play stealth in this game, when I have to kill a target that is two levels above me I have to exit the cover and fight him face to face, I cannot kill him by just going behind. Isn't this the whole point of the game? this is why it's called 'Assassin's Creed'. No hidden blade, no double kill. Really, really disappointing.

I cannot forget how nice were Assassin's Creed 2, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Assassin's Creed Black Flag were the story kept you in suspense.

The animations of the characters are very bad made as well, I remember that in Assassin's Creed 3 ,the character was jumping the obstacles sliding beneath them and leaning when he had to rise a slope, here all the animation that I mentioned are not present and the character feels and behaves like a robot.

There are so many other minuses to add but I think this is enough no make an impression about the games.

Not worth buying at all, better buy Assassin's Creed 2 or Assassin's Creed Black Flag, this game did not worth my money.

Everything is buggy and jittery, the climbing functions worse than in Assasin's Creed 1, characters say/do things you didn't intent when making your dialogue choices, there are 300 million pieces of loot, you get flooded with new items (making the concept of upgrading it or getting attached to a cool combination redundant )the performance isn't justified by the visuals (GTX 1080 Ti), the micro transactions belong into a free-to-play game on mobile, the messages that pop-up are annoying, and the whole terrible story of "LOL Just kidding! this is just a computer simulation to defeat the EVIL CORPORATION!" should have been retired 10 years ago.
