Pose NEW Trailer Drama/Musical FX 9p
Ryan Murphy's latest series is not an anthology, but something much rarer on television: a "dance musical." Pose explores various aspects of New York life in the 1980s, especially ball culture but also the literary scene and the rise of luxury living and excess (think Donald Trump). While Evan Peters, Kate Mara, and James Van Der Beek may be the most recognizable names attached to the project, the series features the largest LGBTQ cast ever assembled for a scripted TV show—with a number of transgender actors among the series regulars.
Succession NEW Trailer Drama HBO 10p
Already being described as Empire set within the media industry, HBO's new drama series follows the ups and downs of a family-owned global media conglomerate, whose wealthy, powerful leader/patriarch (Brian Cox) is absolutely, positively, 100% not modeled after Rupert Murdoch, or so the official word goes. The series comes from Peep Show co-creator Jesse Armstrong and is produced by Adam McKay, who also directs tonight's first episode. Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Matthew Macfadyen, Sarah Snook, and Alan Ruck also star.

Heathers NEW Red-band trailer Drama/Comedy Paramount, 10p
Originally developed for TV Land (and delayed from its planned spring start due to the Florida school shooting in February), this series adaptation of the classic 1989 film is similarly a very dark comedy set in high school (though in the present day). Grace Victoria Cox plays Veronica, the "good girl" drawn into a not-so-good clique of three students named Heather, played by Melanie Field, Jasmine Mathews, and Brendan Scannell (yes, one of the Heathers is male). Selma Blair also stars, and the original film's Shannen Doherty will appear in three episodes in a new role. It is billed as an anthology series, so presumably future seasons would feature different characters and stories.
